Let me begin by saying what a travesty is taking place in the state of Arizona with regard to the immigration situation. And for Sarah Palin to decry, "we are all Arizonians now", is not only ludicrous but a dangerous play on words. While a mess, the immigration nightmare
can and should be evaluated with certain reforms in mind. Living in the South Florida community with its diverse nationalities, this could well end up being South Florida's nightmare also.

We are calling all community leaders and concerned citizens to join us as we pray for and support immigration reform in our state and our nation. I would personally like to invite you to two upcoming events to express our need and desire for change:

I invite everyone to join us as we rally in support of HB 1143. We will be meeting at Church of All Nations at 11 AM and will head north to the West Palm Beach city hall. House Bill 1143, passed by the Legislature last month, calls for a number of policy changes that will benefit the people of Florida.

It contains many administrative simplification provisions that will streamline government and generate savings to taxpayers; it also precludes taxpayer funding of abortion in health plans and requires that a woman be given the option to view an ultrasound before having an abortion. Today on "That's My Point" we had in the studio, Sergeant Lou Penque, president of the local chapter of the Police Benevolent Association. We spoke about the West Palm Beach Police Department and how Mayor Frankel and the City Commissioners have reneged on their bargaining agreement contract and have denied raises to the Police Department.

The city says that the economic times are tough and therefore we don't have the money to pay for the contract they sign. The police unions says that they offered the city different ways to save money and even compromised on some issues, but the city would not negotiate on good terms. This is just another side story in the West Palm Beach Soap City Counsel Soap Opera. I will continue to update you on this situation..."

Today on Crossfire Live, we tackled more issues in the county, especially in West Palm Beach. The Rabbi Barry Silver was in deposition this week so I was joined by Martin Camacho. We spoke more about Mayor Lois Frankel and her attemps to seek a third term. Although she says she doesn't know her plans after her term is up, it still seems she is working behind the scenes to change term limits. We also spent a lot of time on the city of West Palm Beach. We will continue talks on these issues next Tuesday as I won't be on this Thursday, March 18th. God Bless!

Today on Crossfire Live, the Rabbi and I welcomed back Bishop Avis Hill of Westgate Tabernacle Church. We continued our discussion about his battle with Palm Beach County. The Bishop and Rabbi Silver actually filed a lawsuit against the county, which has gained the attention from the media. I completely support both Rabbi Silver and Pastor Hill with their cause and will assist in anyway I can. I will continue to keep you posted on this situation..."

Thank you to all who have been praying for me this week. i have been in the hospital since Tuesday. I was released today with acute herniated discs in my back. I am still in a lot of pain, and would appreciate all your prayers. I appreciate your giving me privacy while I went through all the tests. I hope to be back soon. GBY.

Today on Crossfire Live, Barry and I welcomed a long time friend of his, Bishop Avis L. Hill. He's the Pastor of Westgate Tabernacle Church in West Palm Beach. It was a very interesting show as Pastor Avis is facing multiple issues with the county of possibly having his church shut down. Palm Beach County continues to give him the run-around saying it's because of "zoning issues," but it seems that they have other plans for casino's, dog tracks, etc. Pastor Avis has a heart for the needy, and helps the homeless by providing shelter for them in his church. But the county seems to be disturbed by this and focuses all their energy on trying to halt his efforts by shutting down his church. The Rabbi and I will help Pastor Avis in anyway we can. Stay tuned for more on this issue.

I'm inside the main Hospital in Port-au-Prince. About 400 people are seen daily. We spoke with Dr. McCann who tells us the need of prosthetics for the thousands of folks who have their limbs amputated.

CROSSFIRE LIVE - UPDATE FROM HAITI

On Tuesday's radio show, Crossfire Live, Rabbi Barry Silver was not able to attend, but Pastor Brian McBride filled in for him. We focused on Haiti Relief. We brought back audio from our recent trip and we heard from Dr. Martha Butler, Director of Genesis Project, who is in charge of the Jimani Unit 3 makeshift hospital in the Dominican Republic. Her camp oversees over 300 children, which have been affected by the earthquake. She gave us an update on the needs for the people of Haiti and suggested that we set up camps that will allow all those who have been victims of the earthquake to be able to begin to restore their lives.

We also heard from Mr. Jean Pierre, a gentleman we found in downtown Haiti, right in front of the Presidential Palace, who simply asked and made a plea for us to get drinking water for the people in Haiti. We are working closely with different organization both in the Dominican Republic and in Haiti to begin Restoration Camps throughout the nation of Haiti.

We need financial support to be able to send all the relief aid from South Florida to Haiti.

Things got worst in Haiti after another earthquake hit Haiti today.� We are meeting with an evangelical organization in the Dominican Republic that is heading an international relief effort.� We are being told NOT to head to Haiti until our safety can be guaranteed.� For the past two days a group of doctors from the Dominican Republic were killed as they headed to Haiti.� Looting and violence is hitting Haiti streets in particular at night.� There are thousands of UN, UNICEF, and other multi-national relief organization here in the Dominican Republic.� Most of their leaders are staying in the same hotel and they cannot get into Haiti.� We will try to head over later today or first thing in the tomorrow morning.� Please keep us in prayer.� Things are pretty bad. Please pray for me as I will be leaving for Haiti today, by way of Dominican Republic. We are determined to get all of our supplies into the hands of the right people. Please let others know there are a lot of groups masquerading as disaster relief. Just make sure you know how much of what you give goes directly to the people. I've seen a lot of people hurt when the wrong people get involved.

Crossfire Live Radio Show began its 2010 season with a bang!

While in the studio, my Co-host Rabbi Barry Silver was live from the campus of Florida Atlantic University with 5 immigrant students who have begun a walk, which will take them from Miami, Florida to Washington D.C., in hopes of advocating immigration reform.

Juan Rodriguez, a Miami High School Student, explained how many teens, born in the United States, are found in a difficult situation when separated from their parents because the parents are undocumented. Juan came to the United States when he was just 6 years old and now that he is about to finish High School, he will not be able to go to college, get a drivers license, or be able to work because of his status.

Juan, along with a group of other students, expect to arrive in Washington D.C. on May 1, 2010 to get together with other immigrants in hopes of influencing Congress to implement immigration reform.

We wish them well in this difficult task.

Beginning on Thursday, December 17th, I placed the original cr�che underneath the Christmas tree inside the foyer of the downtown Boca Raton public library. The event was streamed on bocachurchofallnations.com and broadcast live on AM Radio 1230 WBZT. In addition, the Sun Sentinel and Channel 25 WPBF covered the story.

On Tuesday, December 22nd, city officials removed the cr�che that I had placed in the lost and found. Over twenty five Church of All Nations and city residents delivered an additional two dozen cr�ches to the downtown library following this unfortunate event.

As interested participants gathered to bring additional cr�ches, the story attracted local, national and international news interest.

Following this controversy, NBC 5 News, CBS 12 News, ABC 25 News, and Fox 29 News were all present at the library for a 12 noon live report. Over the next several days, the Sun Sentinel and Palm Beach Post wrote follow up stories regarding the "Cr�che Controversy". On December 23rd, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Fox News (national) which had arrived to lend additional coverage to this escalating event.

On December 24th, the "Cr�che Controversy" went global!

Beginning at 10:00 AM EST, Fox News reported this story on their station every hour on the hour. By 12 noon, CNN, MSNBC, Reuters, Associated Press, Bloomberg News, BBC, Univision International, Telemundo International and Televisa aired this story.

This kind of response reveals the power of prayer and the affect Christians can have when they bind together in a spirit of unity and activate their faith as one.

I had the pleasure of meeting the faithful participants in the ongoing saga of the cr�che and our pursuit for religious freedom as equal status players in the city of Boca Raton again Wednesday morning. Without sounding bitter, it is a shame that this diverse city is controlled by select special interest groups.

After visiting the library once again today and paying a visit to city hall with Fox News in tow, it has become painfully apparent that the Christians in the city of Boca Raton are without doubt, considered second class citizens when it comes to religious equality in the arena of public domain.

After an unproductive banter with the Assistant City Manager, and a back and forth dialogue of positioning on both of our constitutional beliefs, I left the premises in disgust at the blatant and open contempt city hall has for the taxpaying Christians of Boca Raton. Taking place at the Boca Raton downtown public library, this battle for freedom of religion reached a crescendo on Tuesday, December 22nd. The beginning of this issue had its birth on the AM talk radio show, "CrossFire Live", featuring Rabbi Barry Silver and myself.

Well here I am, again, at the downtown City of Boca Raton Public Library. Standing on my first amendment rights and asking myself the question, "where is the leadership in this city?" Why is there no administrative presence regarding this sensitive issue?

Another missed opportunity to unite the faiths of Boca Raton and to redefine our similarities as we traverse the road of life together. I call on Christians throughout Boca Raton and the South Florida community to reexamine their core beliefs and what they truly mean to them.
Today it is the cr�che. What will it be tomorrow? And will we have the unity and resolve to stave off this growing discrimination towards Christians in the city of Boca Raton?

�How ironic that over 2000 years ago, Mary and Joseph could not find a place in the inn. Now baby Jesus has no place in the City of Boca Raton facilities. Our Savior has been denied access,� continued Pastor Boykin.

Church group delivers cr�che to Boca Raton, Florida

The city of Boca Raton, Florida doesn't accept donated holiday decorations, but the policy was not going to deter the Rev. Mark D. Boykin.

A cr�che � a nativity scene depicting Jesus Christ� birth � is the Christian symbol of Christmas, Boykin said, and has a rightful place alongside the Hanukkah menorah that sits atop a table in the city library. There's a Christmas tree nearby, but, Boykin says, that's a secular symbol that doesn't impart the true meaning of the holiday. So he and about 50 members of the Church of All Nations from Boca Raton, Florida , arrived at the library Thursday afternoon with cr�che in hand.

For nearly an hour they sang hymns, recited prayers and waved signs calling for freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Just before 1, they filed inside the library to make their presentation. Library Services Manager Catherine A. O'Connell was expecting them.

"We're trying to be non-controversial and enjoy the season without being partial to any religious organization," O'Connell explained before the group came inside. "The menorah is a secular symbol as is the Christmas tree and garland."

Officials in the city manager's and city attorney's offices could not be reached for comment, despite attempts by phone. Encircling O'Connell, Boykin and his followers � accompanied by their own camera crew, which was streaming live to the web � asked her for permission to place the cr�che by the Christmas tree. She explained city policy about donated holiday decorations, then watched as Boykin walked over and gently placed the manger scene beneath the tree anyway. He blessed it and thanked O'Connell for her understanding.

Two U.S. Supreme Court decisions deal with holiday decorations on public property but neither specifically addresses a cr�che alongside a menorah and a Christmas tree, according to David Barkey, southern area counsel for the Anti-Defamation League.

"The Supreme Court says the menorah has religious and secular meaning," Barkey said. "Next to a Christmas tree the overall message is secular and OK. It's never addressed a menorah next to a cr�che, or a menorah, a cr�che and a Christmas tree. It's called the December dilemma and every year the same issue comes up." Boykin, who believes the menorah is a Jewish religious symbol, wants the city to purchase cr�ches just as it has menorahs.

"In 1984, the Supreme Court addressed the constitutionality of a government-erected cr�che. Significantly, the Lynch Court upheld the constitutionality of the holiday display in that case because the cr�che was a part of a larger holiday display in which there were a variety of secular symbols,� Said Jay Alan Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center For Law and Justice, �Courts generally examine several aspects of a display to determine whether a government- sponsored display violates the Constitution. So long as the religious elements of the display are part of a larger holiday expression�with Christmas trees, Santa Claus, or the like�such that the primary effect of the entire display is secular, the display is constitutional,� ended Sekulow

"This is not about the shades of candy canes or the height of a Christmas tree. It's about eight city-owned facilities where menorahs are present," Boykin argued. "They believe because they have a Christmas tree it should placate all Christians. (The city) is discriminating against Christians." As Boykin and his followers left the library O'Connell wished the group happy holidays. "Merry Christmas," Boykin replied. What will happen to the donated cr�che is anybody's guess. "We're don't have responsibility for it," O'Connell said.

SWEET IS THE VICTORY!

I am both humbled and overjoyed at today�s success in downtown Boca Raton. To be allowed to put a Christmas Cr�che' (Nativity Scene) in the Boca Raton public library, following an intense battle with city officials was the result of God's grace and the prayers of His people.

Gathering outside the library with a crowd of close to 65 people was an amazing sight. To see God's hand in action and the faith of His people was truly inspiring. To finally walk away from a situation such as this with victory in hand is truly a testament to the faithfulness of the God we serve.

I would like to thank all those who participated and stood for their beliefs in the face of adversity. It was awesome to see this effort after so many years in ministry. I would also like to thank the city of Boca Raton for their assistance in allowing us to express our first amendment rights in this matter.

I will be leading a procession of church members and city residents to the downtown Boca Raton city library to make a formal request that a Christmas �cr�che� be displayed publicly alongside the �menorah� in accordance with federal statutes requiring religious equality.

Today is a day I remember my father, David Boykin, on what would be his birthday. This picture is at the celebration of my parents� 50th wedding anniversary, about a year before his death. This is one of the last pictures of my family with my dad before his passing. I realize my youngest child will likely remember the least about her �grandpa�. He dearly and deeply loved all of his family and left an indelible mark on all of our lives. Now that he is gone, I see a lot of my father in my brother, Tiery. I know that our parting is only a temporary one as we will see each other again. I thank my Heavenly Father for my earthly father who I was able to watch and glean from in some of the most important and formative years in my ministry. Little did I realize how God would use those momentous times and that we would be blessed to see the supernatural hand of God move. Happy Birthday, Dad!

THANKING GOD

Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. -1 Chronicles 16:8

As we thank God for His blessings this year, we should particularly remember the words of Boston�s Lady Magazine editor, Sarah Josepha Hale, when she urged President Lincoln to proclaim a national Day of Thanksgiving during the midst of the Civil War. She wrote:

Let us consecrate the day to benevolence of action, by sending good gifts to the poor, and doing those deeds of charity that will, for one day, make every American home the place of plenty and of rejoicing. Let the people of all the States and Territories sit down together to the �feast of fat things,� and drink, in the sweet draught of joy and gratitude to the Divine giver of all our blessings, the pledge of renewed love to the Union, and to each other; and of peace and good-will to all men.

This year, as America faces dark days and severe challenges, Mrs. Hale�s words seem particularly appropriate. Wars, rumors of war, and economic distress have overtaken us yet again. Nevertheless, Almighty God has continued to bless America. It is appropriate that we continue to express our national gratitude and thankfulness to Him for His blessings.

Today I head to Kingston, Jamaica for a special conference on child at risk. I have several opportunities to speak, including serving on a discussion panel and also presenting the CALEB Center vision and plan. From this conference I head to Harlem, NY to meet with leaders concerning a possible church plant in Harlem. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel, speak, meet and plan.

Writer and columnist Christopher Hitchens also made two astonishing remarks regarding the death of Rev. Jerry Falwell. Most of his incendiary comments came within hours of Rev. Falwell's death. Pastor Mark D. Boykin commentary serves as a warning to Christians of how the media uses our faith and our leaders as punching bags and as means to get a laugh and ratings.

On this Veteran�s Day, let us never forgot to remember all the brave men and women who considered duty an honor and sacrifice for their country a privilege.

For all the wars past and present, as well as other tours of duty around the world, we remember them today � it should be everyday. They put themselves in harm�s way because their country has called them up to perform duties that protect and represent us and all those who need help. Thank a veteran and keep those currently serving in your daily prayers.

My son Daniel braved the swamp and went alligator hunting with his cousin David in St John�s River (Deland), Florida. It was quite the experience for him. Look at those teeth! Daniel is the one that many of you prayed for during his episode and subsequent surgery on the AVM (arterio-venous malformation) that plagued him with headaches and eventually to seizure in 2007. His surgery went very well and he is dong great. Thank you for your prayer support of Daniel and our family.

Tonight at Church of All Nations at 9 pm we will gather for the "Bonfire of the Vanities"... a house cleaning of sorts. It's a time of purging of all spiritual contraband within our homes & lives. So bring those items such as: magazines, books, movies, and video games and let's reclaim our homes for Christ and remove all that is unclean and unholy and anything that the enemy can use to get a foot hold into our lives.

My family and I traveled to St Petersburg, FL today for the funeral of my wife�s 100 year old grandmother, Ellen Holden McClure. She received Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She helped her husband, R.A. McClure build 3 great churches before settling in Florida. She leaves a legacy behind for her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Ellen�s life was rich and she fulfilled a destiny that was uniquely and intrinsically laid out for her by her Creator. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Today we broadcast a special called, �Shadows of The Edge� on WPEC CBS Channel 12/Comcast Channel 9 in Palm Beach from 2-3 pm. My hope is that the message will reach ears open to hear and will cause people, especially parents, to reconsider the snares the enemy can place in the path of our children that are subtly veiled through so-called �fun and entertainment.�
